Truck Drivers Recruitment and Selection Policy

The management of JOZA GLOBAL LOGISTICS LIMITED is committed to ensuring that the process of selection and recruitment of truck drivers is fair, open and transparent and that it complies with national legislation. Personal information received is dealt with in strictest confidence. No applicant is discriminated against on background of cultural and religious belief, gender or economic circumstances (Equality Act 2004). Position is offered based on competence, qualification and enthusiasm for the position.

Our major focus is to recruit best drivers who will contribute meaningfully towards realizing the company’s goals and objectives. The requirements includes but not limited to age, physical fitness, medical checks, educational background, previous employment records, road knowledge assessment, probationary period.

It is recommended that truck drivers must meet the below criteria:

AGE 30 Years and Above but not above 60 years.
VALID DRIVERS LICENSE Class D or G
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION Ability to READ AND WRITE in the local language (English)
TRUCK DRIVING EXPERIENCE 5 YEARS and above in similar trucks (HOWO,ASTON & MARK is a plus)
MEDICAL ASSESSMENT VISUAL, CARDIOVASCULAR, AUDIOMETRY, SPIROMETRY, ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENT.
COMMUNICATION Moderate level English.

 

Pre-employment Medical Checks:  The candidates shall complete relevant medical checks on the above elements on medical assessments criteria.  The company medical partners take the role to make the decision whether the candidate is medically fit for driving or not.

CRITERIA BEFORE LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT: Shortlisted candidates will further fulfill the following criteria before being issued letter of employment.

  • Provide 2 guarantors, one of which should have a landed property in a developed area.
  • MUST possess NO criminal record from his previous employment.
  • Present a clearance/ reference letter from his last place of work
